The mother hen represents the leader of an Asafo Company and the chicks are the advisory council. A leader may be strict in enforcing rules, but does so to maintain a strong organization and to keep order in the community. The Akan proverb highlights without a strong leader, the company is as weak as a Rock of chicks.
